I had to learn everything from scratch.
Since childhood, my love for languages has driven me to promote multilingualism among Brits.
Still, perhaps, my greatest achievment.
During my time at university, I immersed myself in French and Spanish, laying the foundation for my language education career.
I lived in Toulouse for two years, refining my French and later spent a year in Colombia, perfecting my Spanish whilst working at an international school.
With a decade under my belt as Head of Languages in leading UK schools, I've fine-tuned the recipe for effective language instruction. I've worked on curriculum development, I have trained new teachers and I have helped thousands of students ace their GCSE and A-level exams. I bring this comprehensive background to each tutoring session to help you excel.
My journey into online teaching started in 2020 and before long, I realised I was laying the foundation for my dream business.

I have enjoyed my lessons with Charlie so much. The learning materials that Charlie sends before each lesson are excellent and provide a really good base for revising in my own time. Charlie’s style is engaging, full of enthusiasm and humour, and there is a great blend of tasks, listening, speaking and discussion. Frankly, Charlie has succeeded where so many language teachers of my youth couldn’t - she has made learning languages fun. I am really grateful for that.
I was a little nervous about starting lessons as I hadn't studied a language for years but I haven't looked back! Many studies, including some from the U.S. Department of Education, show that online learning is just as effective as classroom learning, and in some cases even better when interactive learning elements are present. I've tapped into those insights to make sure our lessons are not just effective, but also super engaging for you.
Lessons are held via Zoom, a video conferencing platform. Each lesson involves real-time interaction with me, guided learning, and practice exercises.
All you need is a stable internet connection, a computer or tablet, and a willingness to learn! I'll guide you through the rest.
Not if you don't want to be! I think it helps us connect, but, if you feel more comfortable without a camera, thats totally fine.
Each session typically lasts 60 minutes, though I offer longer sessions upon request.
I was Head of the Modern Foreign Languages department at multiple schools. I have worked in high achieving schools in the UK, Europe and Asia for over 10 years.
